Henry "John" Fair passed away the evening of January 16, 2013, in the company of all those dearest to him. John was born December 1, 1925 in McFarland, Calif. He was 87.

John entered the Navy in May of 1943, and served three times until 1967. John received the Asiatic Pacific (2 stars), Philippine Liberation (1 star), American Theater, and the Victory Medal in his almost four-year stay.

John loved to tinker around, doing things around the house, working in his yard, and taking the dogs for a walk. He had a passion for leather crafting and made himself several belts and hat bands. John liked the outdoors and would often take his family on outings to fish, camp, and hunt. John, in his younger days, was part of an old west club; he was great on the fast draw and had modified his .44 for a faster draw.

John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon; daughter, Ramona Boles; sons, Henry Fair, David Fair, and Ron Fair. John joined those who left before him; Don, Dan, Carla, and Wes, as well as granddaughter, Amber.

Services for John will be at the V.A. National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore., March 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with memorial to follow at Ron and Diane's in Central Point, Ore.
