SANTIAGO, Chile — Jason Allred shot 2 under par in the second round Friday but missed the cut in the Web.com Tour's Chile Classic.
In his first tournament of the tour season, the Ashland native fashioned four birdies and two bogeys.
He tied for 83rd place and, following an even-par 72 in the first round, end up at 2 under overall. The cut line was 4 under.
Allred has conditional status on the tour, meaning he won't be able to get in every event. The Web.com takes a week off, then returns to the U.S. for the Louisiana Open in Broussard, La.
Edward Loar fired a second straight round of 7-under 65 and moved into the lead at the halfway point. His 14-under 130 total put him two strokes in front of Brice Garnett (66) and New Zealand's Danny Lee (65).
Hunter Haas (66), local favorite Benjamin Alvarado (64) and California's Byron Smith (65) share fourth place, three off the lead.
A total of 68 players made the 36-hole cut. The second-round scoring average at the par-72 Prince of Wales Country Club course was 70.148.
