Rogues sign NAIA RBI leader

MEDFORD — The Medford Rogues have signed slugging first baseman/third baseman Matt Page of Oklahoma Baptist University for the summer wood-bat West Coast League.

Page, a junior from Redwood City, Calif., is hitting .367 with six home runs and an NAIA-leading 32 RBIs through 21 games with the Bison. His home runs are tied for second nationally, one behind the leader.

Page was named Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week for Feb. 27-March 3 after hitting .526 with five home runs, 18 RBIs, four walks and nine runs. He had four multi-hit games during the week. He capped it in a doubleheader sweep for the 14-5 Bison, going 5-for-9 with three homers and 12 RBIs.

Page, who is from Redwood City, Calif., and attended Skyline College, is expected to start the season with the team on May 31.
