Singer and songwriter Kory "Roses" Quinn hits the dusty trail with Portland string band Left Coast Country. Quinn, just back from a European tour, will join the band for its March tour through Oregon, Wyoming and Idaho. The band, with Quinn on guitar, will perform at 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Club 66, 1951 Ashland St., Ashland.
Like Quinn's own band, The Comrades, Left Coast Country plays fast-picking, foot-stomping, hard-driving, original country and bluegrass ballads in the vein of Bill Monroe and Townes Van Zandt.
Left Coast Country formed in 2010 as part of Portland's growing "newgrass" movement and features Drew "Red" Tucker on mandolin, Seth Webber on bass, Zack "Pretty Boy" Lovas on fiddle, Ryan "Slip" Mickey on Dobro and Michael Gaskill on guitar. All members also sing.
Cover to the show at Club 66 costs $5. Stereotyped and Haywood Macabre also are on the bill. Call 541-450-2656.
