Jack E. McMillan passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. March 15, 2013 at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Jack was born June 30, 1928 in Union, Ore.; the youngest of five children. He served in the Merchant Marines and then began his career in law enforcement in Eureka, Calif. In 1952 he joined the Medford Police Department and made the Rogue Valley his lifelong home. Jack devoted 32 years, 5 months, and 23 days of service to the Medford Police Department, retiring in 1983 with the rank of Deputy Chief. In 1957 Jack married Shirley June Colbeth. Shirley preceded Jack in death in 1992.
Travel, whether by motorcycle, car, or motorhome, was always calling Jack's name. His large network of travel friends extended across the country. For many years he wintered in Yuma, Ariz.
Jack is survived by his longtime, loving companion Jody Blanton; his son Michael McMillan of Bend, Ore.; and his daughter Sherryl Harrison of Casa Grande, Ariz.
