Dorothea Anne Schulz, nee Kantor, passed away peacefully at home in Ruch, Ore., Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Dorothea was born January 6, 1929, in Medford, Ore., to Joe and Pearl Kantor. She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1946. She married Gordon Schulz, of Talent, in Reno, Nev., December 11, 1948. They raised their six children in Talent. After retirement, they moved to Ruch. Dorothea enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cats, music, and her family. She was a longtime member of the Peter Britt Festival and the Southern Oregon Historical Society.
Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her sister, Josephine Harrison, of Williams, Ore.; sons, Steve Schulz, Robert Schulz, both of Ruch, and Gary Brickner-Schulz (Elise), of Portland; daughters, Diane Kinion (Stan), of Hillsboro, Carole Schulz, of Portland, and Lisa Schulz, of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Oregon Humane Society or local library.
