Larry Bowe, a Providence leader with extensive experience in Oregon, has been named interim chief executive for Southern Oregon, officials announced today.
He replaces Chief Executive Officer Tom Hanenburg, who left Friday to take a position in California with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Permanente.
Bowe will serve as interim leader until Providence hires a new chief executive for its Southern Oregon operations.
Bowe has more than 18 years experience in health care leadership, including 14 years with Providence ministries. He has served as chief operating officer and chief executive of Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital and Providence Newberg Medical Center, as well as the Columbia Gorge and Yamhill service areas, and Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Calif.
Most recently Bowe has supported the special projects division for Providence's Southern California Region.
He has experience in hospital construction and expansion projects and has enhanced clinical excellence, patient satisfaction and quality of care at the hospitals under his leadership, according to a news release announcing his appointment.
