Talk on human trafficking set

Women fighting human trafficking will speak at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the First United Methodist Church, 607 W. Main St., Medford.

The speakers are former Medford resident Liz Alston of Shared Hope International, an anti-trafficking organization based in Vancouver, Wash., and Rebecca Bender, a victim of human trafficking who now works with Medford's Redemption Ridge, faith-based nonprofit organization that works with girls escaping the sex trade.

They will explain how youth get caught up in human trafficking and how often it happens around the state, organizers of the presentation said in a news release. They also will discuss Redemption Ridge's work to provide a home where healing, restoration, and spiritual redemption can occur in a safe and healthy environment.

There is no charge and no reservations are required to attend the presentation. For more information, call the church at 541-773-3691.
