John DeYoung, 87, longtime Applegate resident, passed away March 8, 2013. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada November 1, 1925 to Henry and Gertrude DeYoung.
He was able to fulfill his dream of owning a dairy for a number of years in the Applegate Valley. He also worked at the Grange Co-op as a retail clerk until he retired.
Maxine, his wife of 63 years, and sister, Elaine, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue Fisher (Terry); son, David DeYoung (Karen); sister, LaVerne Davidson; and brother, Howard (Lorna) DeYoung.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Village and the Providence Hospice caregivers.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at First Nazarene Church, 1974 E. McAndrews Rd., Medford, Ore.
