  • A Medford man who stole a laptop from someone who had a restraining order against him and fled Wednesday is now in the Jackson County Jail after a late night search.
Medford police arrested Abdul Blair, 20, after an hours-long search, prompted because of a 9:41 p.m. 911 call that he had a gun and had taken a laptop at a home on Table Rock Road.
Police put up a perimeter along Columbus Avenue during the search. They eventually tracked Blair near the corner of Barnett Road and Riverside Avenue and arrested him without incident.
"When we got him, he was not armed," said Sgt. Tom Ianieri of Medford police.
The arrest time has not yet been confirmed. It's also not yet known if the laptop has been recovered.
Jail records show Blair is held in the jail on first-degree burglary and contempt of court charges. His bail is set at $58,000.
Check back later for more updates.
