Idaho completes series sweep of Southern Oregon

McCALL, Idaho — Josh Haverstrom and Dominik Gabaj scored two goals apiece and Shamus O'Neill dished out four assists as the Idaho Junior Steelheads trounced the Southern Oregon Spartans 9-0 to clinch a second-round WSHL playoff series sweep Saturday at the Manchester Ice & Event Centre.

Gabaj scored in the first period and added his second goal midway through the second to give the Steelheads a 6-0 lead. He also added an assist in the third.

The Spartans were 0-for-6 on power plays and were outshot 47-20.

Idaho won the opening game of the best-of-three series 4-0 on Friday and is 4-0 in the postseason.

For Southern Oregon (28-22), goalie Sean Buckley had 21 saves.
