Evelyn McCance Hull

Evelyn McCance Hull, 86, of Central Point, Ore., passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013. She was born in Omaha, Neb. and adopted by Bert and Minnie McCance of Bassett, Neb. Evelyn graduated from Rock Country High School in Bassett, taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Idaho and Nebraska, and was a homemaker and rancher's wife.

 

In 1955, she and Mitchell moved to Central Point, Ore. where Evelyn took a very active role in helping Mitchell operate the Westward Ho Construction Company from 1962 to 1990. She was active in Gideons International and the First Baptist Church of Medford. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and relatives, keeping family genealogical records, and was an avid baseball fan.

 

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mitchell C. Hull; two brothers, Russell Norton and Ernest Lanz; and sister, Marie Lanz Murphy. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Hull and Ronda Funderburg (Robert), of Central Point; brothers-in-law, Marion Hull (Eilene), of Central Point, and Harry Hull (Fran), of Alamosa, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Bernice Covic (Gene), of Medford and Eva Norton, of Lodi, Calif.; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and three very special kitties.


At Evelyn's request, there will be no memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International, P.O. Box 82, Medford, OR 97501. Evelyn will be laid to rest with Mitchell at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
