It's egg hunting season

Children ages 9 and younger can forage for candy at Medford Kiwanis Club's 71st annual Easter egg hunt, held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Hawthorne Park, on the corner of East Jackson and Hawthorne streets, Medford.

Areas of the park will be designated for specific age groups (0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-9) and for children with disabilities.

After depositing the treats, the Easter Bunny will be available for photos. Rex, Medford Parks and Recreation Department's mascot, also will be present.

Participants are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before the hunt begins. The event is free. Call 541-608-6152.

Lithia Park is home to the Rotary Club of Ashland's 56th annual Easter Egg Hunt, happening at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 31, near the tennis courts.

Candy and hard-boiled eggs will be ripe for the picking. Children will be divided into age brackets (0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10) and can race to find the "golden eggs" to win a prize.

The free hunt only lasts a minute or two so plan on arriving early. Bring a basket or bag for goodies. The Easter Bunny also will be hopping around and posing for photographs.

Call 541-776-7729.
