Power outage hit about 1,000 in Medford

Electrical service was knocked out for about 1,000 Pacific Power customers in Medford this afternoon when a car struck a power pole near the 1300 block of Siskiyou Boulevard.

Power to all but 300 homes has been restored and those customers near the damaged pole should get their service back by 6:30 p.m., utility company spokesman Tom Gauntt said.

The utility company said the original outage, scattered from Barnett Road near Interstate 5 into east Medford, was reported at 3:16 p.m.

Addresses on Barnett Road, Center Drive, Crestbrook Road, Appleton Circle and even East Main Street were affected.
