AmeriTitle, which traces its local roots back to its acquisition of American Pacific Title, has been sold to a Boise, Idaho, title firm.
Futura Title & Escrow Corp. announced its acquisition of AmeriTitle from Jeld-Wen Corp. on Monday. AmeriTitle had 42 offices, including two in Jackson County, and 300 employees.
AmeriTitle has been based in Bend for several years, but when Jeld-Wen was acquired by a Canadian conglomerate the decision was made for the company to focus on its door and window manufacturing operations.
Futura Title indicated AmeriTitle would retain all of its employees, including 20 in its Medford office on East McAndrews Road and three at its East Main Street office in Ashland.
Linda Stelle, the president of AmeriTitle, who has been with the company for nearly 30 years, will continue as president of AmeriTitle.
Futura also operates Alliance Title & Escrow, based in Boise. The combined companies will have 70 offices in 66 counties across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
JeldWen has owned AmeriTitle for 28 years and acquired American Pacific Title from Ed Jolly in the mid-1990s. In 1998, it moved from its quarters on Main Street to more spacious quarters on East McAndrews.
