  • Douglas W. Marshall passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the age of 62. He was born in Medford, Ore. July 2, 1950. His parents were David and Barbara Marshall.
    Doug is survived by his mother, Barbara; brother, Jerry and his wife Peggy; his former wife and friend, Sherri Marshall; daughter, Diane Marshall; and daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Robert Wright, who are the parents of his two grandchildren, Kaylee and Amanda.
    Doug graduated from Medford Senior High school in 1968. He then served in the United States Navy as an electrical and radar technician. In 1978, he was honorably discharged from the Navy and went to work for Toshiba Medical Systems, repairing and installing nuclear medical equipment throughout various hospitals in Northern California. He also worked for a time at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.
    In 1995, Doug retired and realized his lifelong dream of becoming the captain of his own sail boat. He had many adventures, sailing around the coasts of Florida and the Bahamas, while listening to the tunes of his favorite singer, Jimmy Buffett. Doug Marshall never met a stranger, and loved to tell stories...LOTS of stories.
    He will be missed for evermore by his family, his loving girlfriend Nina and the many friends he made all over the world.
    Services for Doug will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the V.A. Domicillary, 8495 Crater Lake Hwy., White City, OR 97503
