  • ASHLAND — About $9,000 worth of tools swiped from a construction site outside Ashland last month are still missing, police reported.
    A plumber discovered and reported a burglary at 10:32 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at a site in the 1000 block of Nepenthe Road outside Ashland. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department believes the theft happened sometime between 7 p.m. March 16 and the morning of March 17, when the plumber arrived at the construction site and noticed the locks to a van and storage unit had been cut.
    Some of the more significant items listed in the sheriff's report include a Milwaukee half-inch Hole Hawg in a red plastic case with 20 drill bits; a Hitachi nail gun, model number NR83A2 with light green metal and a black magazine; Porter Cable Sawzall, TigerClaw model 750; a 16-gauge Senco staple gun, model SNS 45XP; a red-orange Apache auto level in a red-orange case; AGL EAGL H+ laser level; Bosch rotary hammer; Bosch Bulldog Xtreme rotary hammer drill, model number 11255VSR; Bosch Bulldog 7/8-inch SDS rotary hammer drill; Coleman 4500 watt generator; Makita 12-inch planer; and Fein Multimaster tool.
    Most of the stolen items have "ELSTON ODL 2334557" engraved on them, police said.
    Anyone with information about the stolen items is asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff's Department tip line at 541-774-8333 or Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 1-800-850-0580. Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Callers can remain anonymous.
