Marty Knighten, 66, of Van Buren, Ark. passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in a Fort Smith, Ark. hospital.
He was born February 19, 1947 in Tacoma, Wash. to the late Cleo and Elva Knighten. He was a retired driver for Yellow Cab in Medford, Ore. and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Van-Burn, Ark.; two daughters, Laura Gause and husband James of Port Richey, Fla. and Gessika Martin, of Medford, Ore; a son, Dale Knighten and wife, Shawna, of Van Buren, Ark.; a sister, Sherri Crawford of Jerome, Idaho; two brothers, Gary Knighten of Salem, Ore. and Chuck Knighten of Chico, Calif; fourteen grandchildren; Holli, Erica, Brittney, Ceyrra, Melanie, Lesley, Jake, Alecia, Jessica, Slade, Christian, Rachel, Haleigh, and Emily; and two great-grandchildren, Maddisen and Macii.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel in Van Buren, Ark. with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
