Upon complaint of former Chief of Police Noe of Gold Hill, a warrant was issued by justice of the Peace Taylor this morning for the arrest of Joe H. Beeman of Gold Hill. Beeman is accused of perjury.
The complaint comes as the afterclap of the excitement at Gold Hill recently when Noe is said to have fired several shots at a runaway offender he had taken into custody for a misdemeanor. Beeman was a witness against Noe, the latter now swearing the Beeman perjured himself.

The demurrer interposed by the defense in the Medford liquor cases will probably be argued in the circuit court tomorrow. A few civil cases precede it, and the completion of these will determine the time the demurrer is to be argued.
The defense maintains in its demurrer that the men indicted are guilty of selling liquor to minors and that if liquor was sold in this manner that the men who actually sold it should be indicted. The question is an open one and will be hard fought.
