Utility foundation gives grants

The Pacific Power Foundation recently awarded $26,500 in grants to support community organizations throughout Southern Oregon and northern California.

In Jackson County, Society of St. Vincent de Paul got $4,000; Hearts with a Mission got $2,000; Consumer Credit Counseling got $1,500; Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Red Cross got $2,000; and Children's Advocacy Center got $1,500

The Pacific Power Foundation is part of the PacifiCorp Foundation, one of the largest utility-endowed foundations in the United States. Since it was created in 1988, grants totaling almost $54 million have been given to communities.
