Man wanted in Klamath Falls shooting arrested in Calif.

MERCED, Calif. — Authorities say a man wanted for a shooting death in Oregon has been arrested in Central California. The Merced Sun-Star reports that Leland Thomas Nicholson Jr., 27, was taken into custody Monday after surrendering to Merced County Sheriff's deputies in Dos Palos, Calif.

Nicholson's arrest came a day after police took his half-sister, Rebecca Paz, 36, into custody. They say Nicholson was staying at her home.

Nicholson is wanted by authorities in connection with last week's fatal shooting of Terry Dwight Entriken, 28, and the wounding of Vanessa Renee Alexander, 36, in Klamath Falls.

Police say Entriken was shot in the back of the head.

Alexander is hospitalized in fair condition after being shot in the face.

Police in Oregon are trying to determine a motive for the shootings.
