The local police force yesterday evening picked up a boy of 18 who looks 15, giving the name of John Brady, on telegraphic advices from Oakland, Calif. Brady is wanted for stealing a motorcycle.

Brady is said to have stolen the motorcycle at Oakland a few days ago and started north.

Before he had got 10 miles on his road he collided with a telegraph pole and fractured his arm in two places. Binding it to a board he remounted the machine and rode to Richmond, Calif., where he had the arm set.

He then purchased a ticket to Medford, expressed the motorcycle and came on the train. He was arrested shortly after his arrival here.

Brady is just a boy. An attempt will be made to have the matter settled out of court.

The cycle he took belonged to a friend who loaned it to him the previous afternoon to ride.

The boy's arm is said to be in bad shape owing to neglect.

John Walker likes his prison cell and has voluntarily returned to it after being released to it on probation.

John says it is better to be sure of "three squares" and a bed than to be looking for work.

Walker was recently convicted of raising a check and released on probation.

For three days he tried to find work and then returned to the county seat, asking the sheriff to lock him up. He is now doing odd jobs about the courthouse.

Dan Lebo, brother of Charles S. Lebo of the Medford Realty & Improvement Company, narrowly escaped serious injury yesterday afternoon when he fell from a 12-foot ladder onto a concrete floor.

Lebo was painfully injured and confined in his bed some time as a result. Only the manner in which he fell saved him from serious injury.

The perjury case against Joe Beeman of Gold Hill, referred by former Chief Noe of that place following charges against Noe, has been postponed in the justice's court indefinitely. Beeman was released on his own recognizance.

It is believed that this will end the matter until the next grand jury meets. A probe of the whole affair will probably be made then.
