The Boom Booms at Club 66

Up-and-coming rock and pop sextet The Boom Booms is on the road with songs for its new album. The band, which hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, will perform at 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Club 66, 1951 Ashland St., Ashland. Cover is $3.

The band features Aaron Ross on guitar, Geordie Hart on bass, Sean Ross on cavaquinho, Tom Van Deursen on electric guitar, Theo Vincent on percussion and Richard Brinkman on drums.

After releasing its debut "¬°Hot Rum!" in 2011, The Boom Booms was one of 20 bands selected to be part of the British Columbia's 2011 Peak Performance Project, a program intended to launch emerging artists into the music industry. The band won second place and took home a $75,000 cash prize.
