  • The North Medford track and field teams scored dominant wins over Ashland in a nonleague meet at Bowerman Field on Wednesday.The Black Tornado boys cruised 124.5-20.5, while the girls won 89-54.
    For North, Aaron Browne-Moore placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.18 seconds. He was also victorious in the 200 (23.04). Teammate Riley Driscoll won the long jump with an effort of 20 feet, 11/2 inches and captured first in the triple jump (42-51/2).
    On the girls side, Emily Carlson claimed triumphs in the 100 (12.98) and long jump (16-10) for the Black Tornado, while Halley Folsom secured first in the 400 (1:02.02) and high jump (5-2).
    Teammate Jessica Pettegrew-Sam picked up victories in the 1,500 (5:29.53) and 3,000 (11:51.28) and Kendell Erb won the shot put (27-11) and discus (92-1).

    CRATER SPLITS — At Central Point, the Crater boys used superior depth to conquer Roseburg 83-62 in the Southwest Conference meet at Crater High.
    The Comet girls fell to the Indians 92-53.
    Crater's Bailey Bascom captured wins in the 100-meter dash (12.76) and 200 (27.29), while Roseburg's Gabrielle Kearney claimed first in the discus (113-7), shot put (34-0) and javelin (136-2).

    GRANTS PASS SWEEPS — At Grants Pass, Grants Pass swept Eagle Point in the nonleague meet, with the boys winning, 108-37, and the girls cruising to a 127-17 win.
    On the boys side, Eagle Point's Brandon Yeoman secured victories in the 1,500 with a time of 4:38.44 and the 3,000 (10:24.33).
    On the girls side, Grants Pass' Kristina Clark was first in the shot put, discus and javelin, while teammate Tierra Barrett won the 200 and 400 and Amber Webb was fastest in the 300 hurdles and 100 hurdles.
