Carpenter has about 12 albums to her credit, selling more than 13 million records. Her newest is "Ashes and Roses," released last year by Round Records, and songwriter James Taylor joins her for a duet on the track titled "Soul Companion."
With her earlier hits, such as "Passionate Kisses," "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" and others, she's won five Grammy Awards, two Country Music Association awards and two Academy of Country Music awards. Last year also saw her inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her songs speak to the most personal and universal of life's details.
Colvin has won three Grammy Awards, including two for her hit single "Sunny Came Home." She has about eight albums to her credit, with her newest studio album, "All Fall Down," released in 2012 on the Nonesuch label. "All Fall Down" was recorded in Nashville, Tenn., and produced by Buddy Miller. It features appearances by Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Bill Frisell and Jakob Dylan.
The album's release coincided with the publication of Colvin's autobiography, "Diamond In The Rough," a personal look at her rich life of highs and lows with insight and candor. The book tells of Colvin honing her artistry, finding her voice and making herself whole.
