  • PORTLAND — Concordia limited Southern Oregon to three hits in the first game and held off a late SOU rally in the second as the Cavaliers swept the Raiders 8-2 and 5-4 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader Friday afternoon at Delta Park.
Southern Oregon falls to 14-17 overall and 10-8 in conference play, while Concordia improves to 27-14 overall and 12-4 in the CCC. The Raiders don't have to go far for their next contest, as today's doubleheader against Northwest has been moved to Clackamas Community College and is set to begin at 11 a.m.
Stephanie Vandenbusch and Sierra Anderson tallied a hit in each game, while Ashley Lowe picked up two hits in the second contest.
Katie Aden led Concordia with four hits, while Toby Varney and Taylor Copher each finished the day with three hits. Sydney White started both contests and took the loss, while Ashley Suter earned the complete-game win in the opener and McKenzie Marshall won the second game for the Cavaliers.
In Game 2, Southern Oregon rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth and left two runners on base in the inning. Julia Willison was hit by a pitch and Lowe hit a ground-rule double. Irene Barrantes singled to drive home Willison, Lauren Keel brought Lowe in with a groundout and Kara Kelsey singled through the left side to make it a one-run game.
Concordia brought Danielle Orvella in to get the last out, and she finished to earn the save.
