  • Elizabeth "Betty" Hogarth Seymour passed away at 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Ashland Community Hospital in the company of her daughters.
Betty moved from Walnut Creek, Calif. to Ashland, Ore. 20 years ago after retiring from a long business career. This started a new, happy phase of her life. Betty always recognized the value of giving service to the community. Her service included volunteering for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Britt Festival. She was a member of the Ashland Community Hospital Auxiliary for many years and also manned the Information Kiosk on the Plaza for the Ashland Chamber of Commerce. She delivered mail for the City as a Community Service Volunteer and represented the Ashland Senior Center as a member of the Senior Advisory Council through the Rogue Valley Council of Governments. Betty was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She dearly loved working at the Ashland Senior Center for many years, first as an employee then as a volunteer. She was intelligent, hardworking, professional and kind and loved helping others.
She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family. Per her wishes, no services were held. We will hold our memories of Betty in our hearts.
