George went to be with Jesus Friday, April 5, 2013. He will be dearly missed by Sherry, his loving wife and companion of 28 years; his wonderful children who he was very proud of, Duane Reed, and friend Shannon, Holly and husband Ryan Marchant, and Gretchen Baker; granddaughter, Ashley Ralls; and great-grandson, Jaxon Simon. He will also be missed by his sisters, Mary Lou Falls and Rosie James; brothers, Jim Reed and Judd Reed and their spouses and families; sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Hartwell; brother-in-law, Paul Hartman; and Inca kitty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Thelma Reed; brother, Jack Reed; and sisters, Judy Hartman and Nancy Wiltsie.
George was born at home in Chattaroy, Wash. January 6, 1943 and raised on the family farm. He graduated from Riverside High School in Chattaroy and attended Junior College in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
George worked in the Rogue Valley as a carpenter until his retirement. He also mined gold in Alaska, California, and Oregon. He worked in the construction of golf courses, was a heavy-equipment operator, and subcontracted for the Forest Service with his best friend and partner, Glenn Wadstein.
He will be missed so much by family and friends as well. God bless you in your new home George.
