  • The Chautauqua Poets and Writers will host American novelist Francine Prose at 7:30 p.m., in the Mountain Avenue Theatre, 201 S. Mountain Ave. Ashland. Prose has dozens of fiction and nonfiction work to her credit. Her newest, “The Turning,” was published in 2012. Other books include “Blue Angel,” “A Changed Man” and “Reading Like a Writer.” Tickets cost $15, $12 for students, and may be purchased at Bloomsbury Books or online at www.showtix4u.com.
