Floyd Burl Lay passed away peacefully at his home in Medford, Ore. April 16, 2013 at the age of 88. He was born in Dierks, Ark. August 21, 1924. He was raised in southeastern Oklahoma where he met his wife of 65 years, Betty Jo, before traveling to the Klamath Basin in the mid-1940s and later settling in the Rogue Valley in 1955.

For many years prior to his retirement he was Superintendent at Medford Moulding located in White City, where he enjoyed his work and those who worked with him. During this time he was also very active in the Medford Moose Lodge, serving on many committees and participating in many of the activities. He delighted in the outdoors with many memorable hunting and fishing trips with friends and family.

He is survived by his brother, Otis; sisters, Joyce, Lois, and Janice, of Klamath Falls, Ore.; children, James, Debra, Vicki, and Myrna; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a soon-to-arrive first great-great-granddaughter. Many of them were with him when he left to rejoin his beloved wife, Betty Jo, who went to be with Jesus April 29, 2009. He will be missed by all of us he left behind, but our hearts smile at the glorious reunion he is having now.

Viewing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2103, at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2013 with interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. www.hillcrestmortuary.com

We sat beside your bedside our hearts were crushed and sore

we did our best to the end till we could do no more

In tears we watched you sinking we watched you fade away

and though our hearts were breaking we knew you could not stay

You left behind some aching hearts that loved you most sincere

We never shall and never will forget you Father Dear.
