  • Robert "Bob" Lee Taylor, formerly of Medford, Ore., passed away peacefully at his home in Gresham, Ore. Friday, February 15, 2013. He was 68 years old. At his request, there was no funeral or memorial service. His ashes will be spread in the woods at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
    Bob was born December 26, 1944 in Seattle, Wash. to Robert A. Taylor and Della (Romero) Taylor, and grew up in Medford. He graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1964.
    Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1967 and was stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. for his basic training. He later traveled to Aberdeen, Md. and was then stationed in South Korea in the DMZ.
    In May of 1965, Bob married Ellen Kay Bell of Medford, they later divorced. In 1994 he married Heidi Applegate of Banks, Ore.
    Bob worked for the Jackson County Roads Department as a big rig mechanic for 23 years. After he moved to Gresham he worked at Fred Meyer until his retirement.
    Bob is survived by his wife, Heidi of Gresham; five children, Tristan and Isabella of Gresham, Ore., Christopher Taylor and Deborah Campbell of Medford, Ore., and Michelle Miner of Phoenix, Ore.; sister, Linda Taylor of McMinnville, Ore.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Bob was a quiet man who loved his family and his country fiercely. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
