Former North Medford golfer Abby Mann helped George Fox College to the Northwest Conference championship and was named first-team all-conference.
Mann was second in NWC player-of-the-year voting to teammate Kelsey Morrison, the country's No. 1-ranked NCAA Division III player.
The senior Mann shot a 161 total score Saturday and Sunday at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn and tied for third place individually. Her rounds were 83 and 78, respectively. In eight tournaments this season, she's finished in the top five seven times and the top three five times.
George Fox, ranked fifth nationally, won the title by 24 strokes over Whitman.
The Bruins next compete at nationals May 14-16 at Sandestin Beach & Golf Resort in Miramar Beach, Fla.
OLANDER HONORED — A pair of event titles and NAIA qualifying marks at Saturday's Oregon Relays earned Southern Oregon junior Jonz Olander the honor of being the Cascade Collegiate Conference men's track athlete of the week.
Olander won the 400 meters on Saturday, and his time of 47.98 hit the NAIA 'A' standard national qualifying mark. He followed that up by running the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay for the Raiders, as the team won the event with an NAIA provisional qualifying time of 3:16.98.
The honor marks a first for Olander, who is from Grants Pass. Olander set the CCC championship meet record last season in the 400 and also won the 200 to earn athlete of the meet honors.
