April 24, 2013

South Medford's No. 2 doubles team of Tanner Johnson and Nick Viscounty rebounded nicely from a second-set loss to pull out a three-set victory and help the Panthers edge Grants Pass 5-3 in Southern Oregon Hybrid boys tennis Tuesday at South Medford High.

After winning a hard-fought opening set, Johnson and Viscounty were nipped in the second by Nik O'Hara and Nathan Trujillo in a tiebreaker, 7-5. The South Medford duo converted a service break early in the third set en route to a 4-1 lead before pulling away for a 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-1 victory.
