  • South Medford's No. 2 doubles team of Tanner Johnson and Nick Viscounty rebounded nicely from a second-set loss to pull out a three-set victory and help the Panthers edge Grants Pass 5-3 in Southern Oregon Hybrid boys tennis Tuesday at South Medford High.
    After winning a hard-fought opening set, Johnson and Viscounty were nipped in the second by Nik O'Hara and Nathan Trujillo in a tiebreaker, 7-5. The South Medford duo converted a service break early in the third set en route to a 4-1 lead before pulling away for a 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-1 victory.
    The clutch finish was enough to put the Panthers (1-2-3, 1-1-2 SOH) over the top.
