Activities abound at new park

My family and I really enjoyed the Pear Blossom Festival street fair at The Commons park block. Are there going to be regular community events to provide activities there?

Tai chi for beginners will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 19 through Aug. 28. Zumba starts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays June 20 through Aug. 1. Two Tuesday night sessions of self-defense classes are set for 6 p.m. June 18 through July 9 and from Aug. 6 through 27.

Get free organic gardening tips at 12:10 p.m. Tuesdays, June 11, July 16 and July 30. Join a free walking club for nutrition tips and brisk 35-minute walk at 12:10 p.m. each Monday, June 17 through Aug. 12.

The Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday, May 11 through Nov. 2, with more than 70 vendors selling local produce, plants, flowers, specialty foods and hand-crafted items. And, the city guide points out, The Commons always has free parking, a fountain, a play structure for kids, a few little trees and plenty of seating.
