Several local high school students have planned a May 1 charity run to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Donations from the event will go directly to Boston Children's Hospital, which continues to care for those who were injured in the attack. Funds will be directed to the Marathon Program, which supports the hospital's Emergency and Trauma Fund.
The jog-a-thon fundraiser will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the St. Mary's School track, 816 Black Oak Drive, Medford. Event organizers have set a goal of raising $5,000, the average cost of one prosthetic limb.
