  • Dennis Powers, a former business-law teacher at Southern Oregon University and the author of 11 nonfiction books, will discuss the town’s past in a lecture called “The Past from the Eyes of Gold Hill: The Town, Gold Mining, The River and More.”
    His presentation at noon at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave., will include images of the Rogue River and gold mining.
    It’s part of Windows in Time lecture series, and will repeat at noon Wednesday, May 8, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. The free lectures are sponsored by Jackson County Library Services and the Southern Oregon Historical Society.
