  • South Medford recorded its first sweep of the season in girls tennis Tuesday, taking down visiting rival North Medford, 8-0, at South Medford High.
    "It was neat to see," said Panthers coach Hal Borg of the whitewash. "We've got some freshmen playing on the team who did really well. My hat's off to the freshmen who helped pull out the win."
    Kayla Fain and Andrea DeVries, both freshmen, won at No. 4 doubles over Savanna Chambers and Prave Dechasari, 6-3, 6-3. Abi Borg and Kali Curtis were other freshmen who were part of doubles victories.
    South's top singles player, freshman Kelsey Bartlett, won by forfeit.
