  • Hikes were so popular they're all full

  • I read your story about the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy hikes and really wanted to go on one in May. Your article said you'd put the rest of the hikes in your Outdoors calendar, but I haven't seen them. What gives? Doing the old bait-and-switch on us hikers so we can look at the calendar page more often?

    — D.D., by email
You know how we love a juicy conspiracy here at Since You Asked Central, especially when it involves us. When it comes to setting the bar on scruples, we've actually buried it so our SYA reporters won't accidentally trip over it on their way to tricking readers into calendar page-views.
But sorry, D.D. There's nothing nefarious here.
SOLC's Leslie van Gelder tells SYA in an email that the story on their hikes program created almost too much of a good thing. The hikes planned for May and June filled before they were even publicized and they don't have any more hikes planned.
The hikes are a victim of their own popularity"…much like SYA Central.
