Adelia (Dee) Powell of Central Point, Ore. passed away April 5, 2013 in Walnut Creek, Calif. after a long illness.
Dee was born August 5, 1923 in Dodge City, Kansas to Harry and Elva (Kimbrel) Swisher. In 1936 Harry moved the family from Kansas to Murphy, Oregon to help his sisters run the Swisher Family farm. Dee graduated from Medford High School in 1942.
Dee is survived by her husband, William Powell, of Central Point, Ore.; her sons, Fred Piatkin Jr. and wife, Donna, Bill Powell, Doug Powell and his wife, Cindy, and Tom Powell; her daughters, Genie Kaggerud, Sally Gentry and husband, Robert, and Kathy Clements and husband, Tom; sister-in-law, Karol Swisher; cousin, Lorraine Barnes McCurly, of Medford; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Dee was predeceased by her first husband of 27 years Fred Piatkin Sr., her parents, three brothers, two sisters, her sons, John Michael Piatkin Sr. and Edward Powell and her great-granddaughter, Mariah Serenity Piatkin.
There will be a celebration of life service honoring Dee on Mother's Day weekend at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Perl Funeral Home.
