The Jackson County Master Gardener Association plan classes about mushroom cultivation and Huglekultur at the Oregon State University Extension Auditorium, 569 Hanley Road, Central Point.

The $25 mushroom-growing class will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. Participants will also receive an oyster mushroom growing kit valued at $25.

Pre-registration is required as there is a limit of 50 participants.

The Huglekultur class will teach participants about an ancient form of raised bed gardening known as Huglekultur. The class is $10, and will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

This class will be taught by Greg Marchesse, and will include hands-on experience with this unique form of gardening that is particularly great for dealing with woody debris without burning. Pre-registration is required, as there is a limit of 30 participants.
