South Medford's 11-U Jr. Panther baseball team won the Cinco De Mayo 11-U tournament in White City on Sunday, beating the Southern Oregon Giants 15-6 for the title.

In the tournament, Chase Hinton went 6-for-9 for the Panthers, who are 11-2 on the season. Bennett Thompson finished 6-for-12 and Bennett Smith was 7-for-13. The Panthers' top pitchers were Smith, Kai French and Peyton Owens.


Medford's Colleen Horan took third place in the girls division in the Southern Oregon Youth All-Stars Tournament at Roxy Ann Lanes on Sunday.

Shelby Miller of Klamath Falls won the event while Kim Guidry of Grants Pass took second. Miller also claimed the tournaments highest score of 248.

On the boys side, Dakota Munier of Grants Pass took fourth place. Klamath Falls' Trevor Hiatt secured the victory, followed by Roseburg's Ty Schulze, who notched a 299 game. Tyger Miller of Klamath Falls got third.
