Medford police have found the vehicle involved in what investigators call a gang-related shooting in west Medford.
10:25 a.m. Medford police have found the vehicle involved in what investigators call a gang-related shooting in west Medford.
They also have identified several people suspected of being involved, but no arrests have been made yet, police said in a news release this morning.
Investigators have found bullet casings at the scene of the shooting near the intersection of Benson Street and Dakota Avenue.
8:55 a.m. As of this morning, Medford police have not yet arrested suspects involved in Tuesday's drive-by shooting on Benson Street.
Authorities worked the case until 3 a.m. today, interviewing potential witnesses and canvassing the surrounding neighborhood. They will continue to work the case through the day.
"We still have some good leads," said Lt. Mike Budreau. "We will not tolerate this type of behavior in Medford. Whether or not anybody was hit, it's a big deal."
No one was hurt in the shooting, which was reported at about 8:40 p.m. Three gunshots were heard before witnesses reported seeing a car speed away.
Budreau said the case could be gang-related, but that's not confirmed.
"We're still sorting out the motive and the who," he said. "This is our top priority for today."
