  • Georgia Maynard, 94, of Ashland, Ore., passed away May 7, 2013 at Ashland Community Hospital.
    Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland St., Ashland, Ore.
    Georgia was born July 4, 1918 in Coppell, Texas, daughter of William and Martha Elizabeth Thompson. She married Joe Bailey Maynard September 25, 1937 in Denton County, Texas. She worked as a nurse's aide, orchard worker, and was a wonderful, loving homemaker; raising seven children with her husband Joe. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Texas and Ashland and she loved quilting and gardening.
    Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; a daughter, Patsy Thompson; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include children Joe, Riley and wife, Heather, of Phoenix, Ore., Wanda Brewster and husband, Richard, of Ashland, Ore., Rose Teem, of Phoenix, Regina McDonald, of Ashland, Trecia Lillibridge and husband, Mark, of Ashland, and David Maynard and wife, Lydia, of White City, Ore.; two sisters; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
    Georgia was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was kind and loving to everyone and was loved by all. A devout Christian, she is resting in the arms of the Lord. We love you, Mom.
