Joseph (Joe) Carl Prizzi Sr. of Medford, Ore. passed away at the Rogue Regional Medical Center, Medford, of coronary complications. The Lord called him home May 7, 2013. Joe was born December 19, 1932, at Cleveland Heights Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe was the son of Italian immigrants that came to the United States as children.

Joe was a graduate of San Jose High School in California. Shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Navy serving, as a cook on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Rendova at the end of the Korean war.

During his time in the Navy he met Mary Lou Ainsworth of Ohio and it was love at first sight. Joe and Mary Lou celebrated life, family and love together for 60 years. Joe's love of God was ongoing throughout his life.

Joe was a "jack-of-all trades and a master of none." He was a self-taught man of many talents. He had a true zest for life!

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Mary Lou Prizzi; his three children, Joseph Carl Prizzi Jr., of Union City, Calif., Mara Jo Dobbins, of Livermore, Calif., and Beth Ann Prizzi, of Eagle Point, Ore.; six grandchildren, Bracal, Katrina, Starlene, Tiffany, Marisa, and Mike; six great-grandchildren, Jessie, Cody, Hayden, Aubrey, Michael, and Jacob; and younger brother, John Prizzi and his family, of Campbell, Calif.

The family invites all to the memorial service to be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
