The Oregon Public Utility Commission will have an open house May 14 in Medford to collect public comment on Pacific Power's request for a rate increase.

The Oregon Public Utility Commission will have an open house May 14 in Medford to collect public comment on Pacific Power's request for a rate increase.

The open house is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the South Medford High School Commons, 1151 Cunningham Ave., Medford. Public comment will be taken from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

On March 1, Pacific Power filed for a 3.7 percent rate increase for residential customers effective January 2014 and an additional 1.8 percent increase late in the year when a new power-generating plant gears up. Ratepayers' statements will be made part of the record in this rate case now before state officials.
