Local resident, Dale Zauner, passed away at Providence Medford Medical Center January 15, 2013 due to complications of advanced Parkinson's and pneumonia. During most of 2012, Dale was in and out of the hospital and rehab. Earlier in 2012 he quit working, closed Plas-Tec Extruded Products and sold the building. A very dramatic year for a man that always worked with 50 years within the plastics industry. And, had created a knowledge of plastics that is very rarely found. Parkinson's changed his life dramatically the last few years, however, his spirit was not broken in the end. Dale would have celebrated his 73rd birthday this weekend.
Should one want to donate funds in his memory please consider the Humane Society of Medford. Also, OHSU Parkinson's Resource Center, of Portland, and Providence Home Health Care/Hospice, of Medford; they were very instrumental in assisting with his illness.
Dale is survived by his wife, Karlene Larson-Zauner, of Central Point, Ore.; father, Pete Zauner; brother, David Zauner; and sister, Delores, of Grants Pass. Also, a son in Washington State; three daughters in So. California; with 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also stayed close to his three step-children; and four step-grandchildren in Oregon.
