Standoff at Super 8 ends with three arrested

A 1½ hour police standoff ended without incident Saturday night at the Super 8 Motel on Hamrick Road in Central Point, leading to the arrest of three men.

Sheriff deputies, Medford police, Central Point police and state troopers surrounded the motel after a sheriff deputy spotted a stolen vehicle driving east on Pine Street near the Pilot gas station.

Witnesses saw three men run from the vehicle outside the Super 8 around 8:30 p.m., according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.

After the standoff ended after 10 p.m., deputies arrested Robert Lee Powelson, Juvenal Adan Vega and Miguel A. Delfin. No ages or cities of residence were provided in the sheriff's report.

Both Powelson and Delfin were arrested on outstanding warrants and Vega was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and unauthorized use of a vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department.
