  • Fire investigators have not determined what caused a blaze Monday evening that damaged a workshop on the grounds of the Applegate Christian Fellowship.
The Applegate Fire Department was called to the Ruch church at about 7:40 p.m. and found fire spewing out of an outbuilding window, according to Applegate Fire Department Operations Chief Chris Wolford.
"It was contained to one room and we were able to get a handle on it pretty fast," Wolford said.
Fire crews spent a couple hours after the flames were doused searching for hot spots in the shop's walls and ceiling, Wolford said.
"The structure is damaged but is repairable," Wolford said.
Fire investigators have found the area where the fire started, but a cause is not known.
Wolford did say there was nothing suspicious about the blaze.
