  • Cornerstone Christian Church will host Dr. Derek Thomas in a lecture titled, "Getting the Gospel Right," from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at 608 N. Bartlett St. Thomas serves as associate pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, S.C., has written and edited 15 books and produced a biblical commentary series published by Banner of Truth Trust and Evangelical Press. He is editorial director for the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals and editor of its e-zine, Reformation 21.     The Medford Stake Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will hold its annual conference Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19. Elder Richard Hansen of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy will be the presiding authority.
    The adult session will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Medford Stake Center, 2900 Juanipero Way. The general session will start at 10 a.m. Sunday. Television coverage will be available at LDS church sites in Etna, Happy Camp and Yreka, Calif.

    Events scheduled at the Center for Spiritual Living
    The Rev. Joy-Anne Fournier will speak on the "Architecture of Health" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Center for Spiritual Living, 3581 Lear Way, Medford. A children's program will be given during the service.
    Following the service will be a Spiritual Cinema event at noon featuring speaker Michael Bernard Beckwith. A spiritual study group will continue discussing "Conversations with God, Book One" by Neale Donald Walsch from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the center. Books are furnished.

    St. Mark's Episcopal Church will celebrate the Pentecost during services Sunday, May 19, at 140 N. Oakdale, at the corner of Fifth Street and Oakdale Avenue in Medford. Parishioners are encouraged to wear red.

    Pastor/counselor Bill Gallagher will hold a weekend workshop on "Growing through Divorce" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 30-31, and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Saturday, June 1, at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Highway 62, Eagle Point. The event is to assist those who have gotten a divorce or are presently going through a divorce.
